Armstrong Witworth NF13

The NF13 was the next production Meteor type and only 40 were built for use in the middle east. Visually similar to the NF11 it was fitted with a radio compass, cockpit cooling ducts and other changes for tropical operation including enlarged intakes to improve mass airflow to the engines and increase thrust by 100 lbs. The first prototype NF13 WM308 first flew in December 1952 and later served with 39 Squadron.

All NF13's served initially with the RAF but small numbers were later sold to Israel, Egypt, France & Syria. Two NF13's are preserved in Israel and the remains of WM366/ 4X-FNA are held by the WWII Aircraft preservation society at Lasham in the UK where they have re-assembled a composite airframe.
