Gloster Meteor NF(T).14 WS792

WS792 was built in 1954 by Armstrong Whitworth, its currently on display at the Brihouse Bay caravan park, Borgue, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland.

WS792 participated in the Battle of Britain display at RAF Gaydon in Sept 1969.

WS792 at RAF Cosford in Sept 1969 while it served with 1 Air Navigation school (Peter Nicholson).

WS792 guarding the gate at the RAF Carlisle stores depot in April 2005 (Wallace Skackleton).

Sold into private ownership it was not in a happy state in December 2000 after a number of years of exposure to the elements.

As of December 2009 the aircraft has been given a nice coat of paint. Its a pity about the markings although 7965M is its correct instructional airframe number, I don't know where they got the 85 Sqn markings from as that unit appears to only have operated Meteor F8's.
