Gatwick Aviation Museum

Meteor T7 trainer VZ638 first entered service with the No. 500 "County of Kent" squadron, later serving with 25, 54, 85 and 501 "County of Gloucester" finally with 237 OCU at RAF College Cranwell and the College of Air Warfare. On withdrawl from service it was stored at RAF Kemble.

In January 1972, VZ638 was purchased by the British Historical Air Musem at Southend, when the museum closed it passed to Southampton and later to Hurn where it joined the "Hunter One" collection. On the death of Mike Carlton it moved once again to "Aces High" at North Weald aquiring the registration G-JETM and the colours of a T7 serving at Hal Far in Malta. It was purchased by Peter Valance for the Gatwick Aviation Museum in July 1998.
