245 Squadron RAF
245 Squadron took delivery of its first Meteors (F4's) in December 1947. They operated F4's until July 1950 with their first F8's arriving in June. In may 1951 while based at Horsham St Faith they took part in operation '' to test the viability of inflight refuelling using tankers operated by Flight Refuelling (Now part of Cobham Plc).
They flew Meteors until April 1957 when they converted to the Hawker Hunter.
