Ghost Squadron Meteor F. Mk III (1:3.4)

In late 2007 we received an email from Alan Carter of the Ghost Squadron a group who custom build flying scale models of interesting aircraft. They had just completed a 1:3.4 flying scale model of a gloster meteor MK3 powered by two single stage gas turbines. It weighed in at 35 Kg with total engine thrust of approx 32Kg.

It successfully completed initial test flights and was awarded its certificate to fly in public (required for large model aircraft and issued by the CAA), It was unfortunately lost when the main wing spar failed due to an unseen flaw in the material late summer 2007. They would like to rebuild the aircraft but other projects are underway in their workshops so we may have to wait some time before a large scale turbine powered Gloster Meteor model flies again.
