| The RNZAF entered the jet age with the arrival of Meteor F.MkIII EE395 on loan from the RAF in 1945. This was reserialled NZ6001 and eventually purchased. They choose not to buy the Meteor to equip the post war RNZAF instead selecting the DH Vampire. | |||

| Is the aircraft at Svedinos really SE-DCC formerly G-ANSO (Reaper), if so then why is the tail carrying RAF 85 squadron markings? The swedish government bought three Meteors for target towing operations via Svensk Flygtjänst but not much written history published to the web that I can find. | ||

Museum Locations and links
Ashburton Aviation museum Opened in 1974 at Ashburton Airport to the south of Christchurch it serves as the operational base for airworthy DC3 Dakota ZK-AMY. As well as the ex Classic Jets Meteor A77-867 they have other static displays including cockpit of Canberra WH734, Hunter cockpit and FB5 and FB11 vampires.
IAF Museum: Hatzerim AF Base, Hatzerim, Army Postal Office Box 02832, Beer Sheva, Israel. Its closed Saturdays and Jewish Holidays (except intermediate days) so always check before visiting.
Flyvemuseum, Denmark: Danmarks Flyvemuseum og Trafikmuseet, Fabriksvej 25, 3000 Helsingor, Denmark.
Malta Aviation Museum: Ta'Qali, ATD 4000, Malta G.C. This now has three Meteors, NF14(T) WS774 which is on display plus WL360 (T7, Two seat trainer) and F.Mk8 WK914 which are under long term restoration.
Planes Of Fame: Chino California, has an extensive collection of both airworthy an static aircraft on display.
Svedinos Automobile and Aviation Museum Ugglarp, Sweden contains an extensive private collection of vintage cars and over 30 aircraft including former Gloster demonstrator G-ANSO reconfigured as a Meteor T7, and sold to Sweden for target towing as SE-DCC in 1959.

Added link to Svedinos Automobile and Aviation Museum Ugglarp and added a 2006 photo of their Meteor T7 SE-DCC, this is allegedly former Gloster demonstrator G-ANSO / G44 Reaper before it was rebuilt as a T7 and sold on to sweden for target towing in 1959. The 85 squadron markings on the tail call its identity into question.

News from Mike davey that he has acquired WH291 formerly with Second World War museum at Lasham! in exchange for WK914 which has been shipped to the Malta Air Museum. Its much more complete as WH291 flew into Lasham although spent the next twenty years exposed to sunny Hampshire weather. Mike has the same plans for WH291 as he had for WK914 which is restoration to ground running state.

News from Martin Edwards confirming the export of A77-867 to Ashburton Aviation museum and the existence of Meteor TT20, WD767 at Silverdale. This is the airframe owned by Don Subritsky which he acquired from Australia, waiting for a current photo at Silverdale.
2007:
Meteor F4 VT229 was sold to the United States by the Newark Air Museum in 1991. It is still registered to Kermit Weeks, Polk City, Florida as N229VT but confirmation of its status is needed. The distinctive center section of a Meteor was seen at his storage facility in October 2002 (see photo above) but the identity was not confirmed. Has anyone else seen or recorded details of this aircraft?, The photo above shows it in reasonable state although there is some damage to the rear part of the port Nacelle.
