WA591, The restored Meteor Flight/ Air Atlantique T7 made her airshow debut at Duxford on the 16th of October. Its a stunning addition to the historic jet fleet and looks fantastic in flight. It was the first time she had appeared at an airshow in her RAF training scheme, being painted at Odiham before flying into its new Coventry operational home on the 24th August 2011.

My first thought when I saw this was that she was lining up to depart Odiham, its wonderfully atmospheric
and many thanks to Dave Lenton (www.coptercrazy.co.uk) for permission to use it.

Missing - NZ Meteor, Last seen Auckland New Zealand, May 1995
I snapped this photo on a visit to the Aladin's cave that was Don Subritsky's storage facility at Dairy Flat, Auckland NZ in May 1995.
It's a nightfighter converted for target towing (TT20?) but knowing nothing about Meteors and not being that interested in them
at the time I didn't do much more than snap the photos and find out that it had come from Australia where it had been stored in
the desert. You can see a part of a code on the underside of the wing which seems to start WD7, not much to go on. I'd like to
confirm its identity and location and get some updated photos so it can be listed on the survivors page where it belongs. The Spitfire
in the background may be the MK XVI he restored to flying condition and sold in Sept 2008.
609 Sqn F8's in 1953
Formation break right, F8's of 609 Squadron, a nice photo provided by David Shaw, Meteor pilot 1953 - 57.
The squadron was based at Church Fenton along with no's 19 and 72 Squadrons, all equipped in 1953 by Meteor F8's.
VZ467 at Temora in July 2007 (Peter F Williams)
A nice picture of VZ467 from Temora in July 2007, It now carries the markings of A77-851, 77 Sqn RAAF Korea.
Meteors of Rasin El Aboud, Syria - June 1st 2009 (Google Earth)
The unmistakeable outline of Meteors at Rasin El Aboud airfield in Syria, brought to my attention by Hywel Evans
They are on Google Earth at N36 11.22 E037 34.31, Twelve are scattered to the north of the main runway with
two more in a compound to the SE. The dark shadows indicate they have no engines with the one on the left also
missing its fuel tank bay covers. The imagery is dated 1st June 2009 (Google Earth).
The Syrian Air Force flew mostly refurbished former RAF aircraft which arrived between late 1952 and March 1953. They took on charge nineteen F8's, two T7's and two FR9's with a final delivery of six ex RAF NF13's in June & July 1954. The three in the picture above appear to be nighfighters with their long noses. The airframes may be good candidates for restoration or decoys, used for target practice and virtual write-offs, it would be nice to know either way.
WA591, Kemble 24th January 2010
It doesn't look that different but under the skin the project is moving forward steadily as systems are completed
and tested with duplicate CAA inspections of everything, They will be adding fuel to test for leaks in the coming week
and first ground runs are pencilled in for March. It was great to be able to visit again and I was very impressed (A. Broxholme).

Egyptian F4 s/n 1405 at Luqa in Malta during its 1950 delivery flight. Thanks to Erwin van de Mortel for finding the photo which
came from Malta Flypast Issue 3. It was probably in the second batch of nine F4's delayed by an arms embargo that disrupted
sales to the Egyptian Air Force.
WD623 of 1574 Target Facilities Flight in 1966, It is shown over Horsborough lighthouse to the east of Singapore island. It was a
convienient waypoint when towing for the Royal Navy. It was photographed from WM245 another TT20 by Neil Winton.
